As banks tighten lending, private investment firms like InReturn Capital are stepping in to offer a helping hand to businesses. Small and medium enterprises have the odds stacked against them anytime they need financing. Banks are unwilling to lend to them due to lack of collateral and established cashflow and major project financiers ignore them because of their size. Private investment firms are now stepping in o give SMEs a helping hand. The latest one is InReturn Capital.

InReturn, a joint venture between Dutch and Kenyan Firms and a Dutch development organisation, Cordaid, has joined financiers targeting the promising small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector in the emerging markets in the East African region.
