InReturn Capital invests in Subuiga General Merchants
In March 2010 InReturn Capital closed an investment deal with Subuiga General Merchants, a supplier of building materials such as sand, ballast, cement and timber to road contractors and construction companies in Kenya. InReturn will invest in trucks and working capital to enable further growth for Subuiga. InReturn’s investment, which takes the form of a subordinated loan structure, will enable the company to increase and optimize operations, ensuring timely deliveries to customers.

The owner and CEO of Subuiga is Mary Gathoni, a self-made Kenyan entrepreneur and a mother of three children. After completing high school she owned several small trading businesses, which allowed her to build the necessary skills and expertise to start Subuiga General Merchants. Ms. Gathoni is a street-smart, hard working, charming and very persistent businesswoman, a reputation that has helped her to obtain contracts from some of the main players in the Kenya construction industry.
