Technical Assistance Funds
In 2007, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Netherlands, by initiative of Minister Koenders of Development, initiated the Schokland Fund to help realize the millennium development goals by 2015. This Euro 50 million Fund stimulates private, innovative partnerships that contribute to the millennium development goals and contribute substantially themselves in realizing the goals. The Ministry awarded InReturn with a grant of Euro 487.000 for the InReturn East Africa Fund, noting the Fund’s innovative approach in helping small- and medium-sized enterprises grow and realize direct jobs. The award serves as a catalyst for private investment, and enables the Fund to help investees make their businesses financially, environmentally and socially sustainable.
